Authority to Award Degrees
Carey International University of Theology degree programs are offered under an Exemption for Religious Institutions by the Florida Department of Education Commission for Independent Education. The Commission for Independent Education, an agency of the Florida Department of Education, has statutory responsibilities in matters relating to nonpublic, postsecondary, educational institutions.

Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries (ARTS)

Carey International University of Theology is an Affiliate institution of the Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries. As such, it participates in and contributes to collegial and professional development activities of the Association, and is committed to the quality of education ARTS promotes. Affiliate status does not, however, constitute, imply, or presume ARTS accredited status at present or in the future.

Florida Council of Private Colleges, Inc. (FCPC)
Carey International University of Theology is a degree-granting Sustained Member of the Florida Council of Private Colleges, Inc. (FCPC) since 2005. The FCPC represents its private, faith-based, post-secondary educational institution members before any individual, private or government educational organization. The FCPC educational standards are patterned after our early historical educational institutions of higher learning for the following: faculty, academic curriculum, course development, campus and/or distance learning operations, catalogs, brochures, advertisements, application forms, financial information, and student records and transcripts.

Council of Private Colleges of America (CPCA)

Carey International University of Theology is a degree-granting member of the Council of Private Colleges of America (CPCA), which advocates for private, faith-based institutions. CPCA standards—modeled after traditional higher education benchmarks—cover faculty, curriculum, operations, and records, and meet or exceed Florida and other state requirements. The CPCA Certification Commission has awarded Carey a ten-year Advanced Certification (2023–2033) with no special conditions.
